PRESBYTERIAN WOMEN

September 2010

September is here and we continue to have several activities for the month.  We hope you will join in some or all that are listed below.

THE ATTIC—The sales picked up for the month of August and it is hoped that the Attic will be able to stay open until Saturday, Sept. 11th.  Microfiber cleaning cloths have continued to be a good seller as well as a few cookbooks here and there.

THE BUSY BEES continue their summer hiatus!

WOMEN’S STUDY—Edi Spellmeyer did an excellent job at the August study which was titled “What do You Feed an Angry Man?”  This was from 1 Samuel 25 and focused on relationships between spouses.  It was most interesting.  This month Edi’s study, entitled “the Kingdom Within” will be held on Monday, September 13th at NOON with a bag lunch.  Plan to come for what promises to be another interesting and educational hour.  You’ll be glad you did!!

SEPTEMBER POTLUCK will be held on Wednesday, Sept. 29 at 5:30 P.M.  This will be the HOT DOG ROAST which is always a fun way to end the summer potlucks.  There will be a sign-up sheet on the table in Fellowship Hall soon.

CLUSTER MEETING—The Presbyterian Women of Northern Waters Presbytery Cluster 1 Meeting will be held on Thursday, Sept. 16th at Manitowish Waters Community Presbyterian Church.  The morning featured speaker will be Charlotte Hockings who will talk on “Native American Spirituality”.  The afternoon program will be the “Blue Winds Dancing” Dancers performing Ojibwe Culture.  Registration begins at 9:30 A.M. with coffee, juice, and breakfast breads.  There will be a noon luncheon at the cost of $6.00.  If you plan to attend, please sign up in the Fellowship Hall.  We have to have our reservations in by September 9th.

BRUNCH BUNCH will be on Thursday, Sept. 23rd at 10:00 at Perkins Restaurant.  Be sure to sign up if you plan to attend so arrangements can be made to accommodate our group at the restaurant.  Note the change in date to the 4th Thursday so as not to conflict with the cluster meeting.

THANK OFFERING—this will be taken all month long.  A separate article in this newsletter explains more about the Thank Offering.

PW BOARD—the next meeting will be on Monday, Sept. 27th at 9:30 A.M.
